Age Concern Sandwich provides a caring and friendly environment where people can meet up and join in with the many services and events we offer. We are based in the heart of the community and recognised as providing preventative care to over 50s from Sandwich, and surrounding villages and Ramsgate.
Our mission is to promote the well-being of mature adults, to help make their future a fulfilling and enjoyable experience, and to enhance the social aspects of life.
Having somewhere to come and meet friends, take part in activities, have a freshly cooked, balanced meal, plus the opportunity to take sandwiches home for an evening meal, receive information and advice if required, is a life-line and means many more people have a quality of life and independence; something we all take for granted when we are younger.
The Well-being Centre opened in the early 1980s, catering for a small number of lunches. We now provide anything between 30 and 80 lunches daily, with refreshments being served all day. View Our Menu Here
Other services we offer include hairdressing, assisted bathing and showering plus hearing aid maintenance.
We also have a fully equipped Day Centre for those with early onset and mid dementia, known as our Sunflower Centre, which also helps give respite to carers.
