Sunflower Dementia Centre

The Sunflower Centre is for people over 50 with dementia who are unsuitable for social day care because of a need for greater attention and stimulation or a more secure environment.

Daily activities include: music therapy plus art and crafts. Lunch and refreshments are included.

High staffing care levels in a kind and caring environment.

The Sunflower Centre is open Monday to Friday 9:30am- 3:00pm.

Day respite for people over 50 living with a dementia

The Sunflower Centre was established in 2011 offering day respite for people over 50 living with a dementia, who are need some extra support and stimulation in a more secure environment. The Sunflower Centre is open 10 – 3 pm, Monday to Friday.

Daily activities include, music and movement, arts and crafts, singing, reminiscence, quizzes, board games and boccia. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

The service offers people with a dementia

• An enjoyable day out with sensitivity to individual need.
• Social skills from being in company.
• The possibility of living in own home longer.

The service offers carers:

• Relief from their caring responsibilities.
• Knowledge that the person they care for is receiving a high standard of support.
• Support from other carers through regular group meetings.
• Access to other services provided by Age Concern Sandwich and signposting to other organisations.
